ALEXANDER’S POV
I walked towards her and placed my hand on her shoulder and pulled her into my embrace.
Tears dripped down her face. “ They left me, they left me all alone, they couldn’t even wait till the end of the contract before leaving me alone”, She says crying.
“Did you think they ever loved you? They never, they played you,” I said.
“ They have my money, they said they would fund my education with the contract money” she cried.
“And you believe them? You should never have trusted people who never treated you well, they only use you to get a better life” I pulled away from her, and she was still crying profusely.
“Listen, I will make you a better person, forget about the money and everything they took from you. I promise to support your education after the contract, pay you the same amount you should have received, which is seven million dollars, and I promise not to stop supporting you after we divorce”, I said, looking sternly into her face.
“You want to help me ? She asked.
“ Yes, you deserve better” I said to her.
I pulled her into my embrace. I led her back into the car. When we got into the car, she cried hard. I pulled her into my embrace.
After that day, I tried my best to make sure I put a smile on her face.
FREDA’S POV
I know my stepmom and stepsister aren’t so good to me because they treated me badly, but I never thought they could hurt me this badly. I should have known they had an evil plan behind their backs.
Thanks to Alexander who decided to put a smile on my face. He treated me like a sister. I expected him to speak about our one-night stand, but he never spoke about it, so I think he doesn’t remember we ever had anything.
He showed me so much care and so much love no one has ever showed me.
ALEXANDER’S POV
In those few weeks that I spent with Freda, I fell in love with her, but I had to be careful with her. I love her so much, but I can’t betray Briana. We have come a long way. Moreover, she brought this idea because she wanted the best for me.
I never realized how beautiful she was until now. She is one of the most beautiful women I have ever met.
Briana is beautiful, but Freda is more beautiful, and she has a big heart, she is so gentle and calm. If it were to be some other woman, they would have tried to seduce me into bed, but she never did any of such. She respected herself.
TWO WEEKS LATER.
I arrived back expecting to be greeted by the beautiful face of my contracted wife Freda but it was Briana who rushed towards me and jumped at me and all of a sudden I realized that I was cold towards Briana. I do not feel anything for Briana again.
She felt it, she felt my coldness, she pulled away looking sad and trying to force a smile on her lips.
“How was your day? She asked.
“My day was fine” I replied coldly. She gave me a weak smile.
“ I need to freshen up” I replied. I ascended the stairs, I walked past Freda’s room, then I walked back and knocked on her door.
She opens her door, and she smiles at me, she greets me and just her smile brightens my day. I walked back into my room smiling at myself and I realized I had fallen for Freda.
BRIANA.
When he arrived, I rushed to him hoping he would be delighted to meet me, but unfortunately, he was cold towards me at that moment. I began to feel something was wrong, and it must have something to do with Freda because I did not trust her.
When he pulled away, I asked him about his day, but his response was distance. He didn’t stay a minute with me, it was as if he was in a rush to get rid of me.
He excused himself and ascended the stairs. I wanted to stay in the living room, but I decided to follow him. I guess he wasn’t aware that I was trailing him ascending the stairs. He knocked on her door and she opened the door for her.
I saw the chemistry and the body language between them. I could tell Alexander was in love with Freda.
I need to get rid of Freda as soon as possible.
The next day, I called my lawyer and asked him to prepare a divorce document, and he should bring it to me the next morning.
FREDA.
I haven’t been feeling so well, and I really need to go to the hospital. I googled my cellphone for the symptoms I was having, and it all showed pregnancy.
I became scared, then I decided to get a pregnancy strip with some cents in my hand.
I returned home and took the test and what I got were two positive lines.
“ I am Pregnant!
BRIANA.
My lawyer came very early in the morning with the divorce documents. I collected it and showed it to Alexander, who had just come out of the bathroom. He had a towel tied around his waist.
“ Now that you have gotten your inheritance, I think it’s time for a divorce” I said.
He looked at me in surprise. I rolled my eyes. “Are you not planning on divorcing her? I asked.
“I…..I ….he trips off. Then he continued. “ She ……” I cut him off.
“ We had a deal, and now you have gotten what you want, and it is time you let go of her”, Briana says.
“ We can’t just let her go away…….” I cut him off.
“ I have everything all prepared, Alexander, and I am taking a step right now” I said and stormed out of the room.
I rushed down the stairs and I ordered one of the maids to call Freda down to the living room.
I stood in my bathroom with the pregnancy strip in my hand, I kept staring at the two red lines on it. Tears dripped down my face.
I was still trying to figure out myself when I heard a knock on my door. I quickly dropped the pregnancy strip in the bathroom and walked to the door. I opened the door, and it was a maid in her uniform standing at the door.
She greeted me. “ Good morning ma”, bowed to me.
“ Good morning, Emma” I replied.
“ Miss Briana sent for you, ma”, She says to me.
“ Alright, tell her I will join them soon” I said and sighed.
I changed into a tank top and blue denim pants, I quickly flushed the pregnancy strip and washed my face.
I didn’t want Briana to see me in tears. I went to wash off my tears. I walked out of the bedroom and shut the door behind me.
I climbed down the stairs and I could see Briana glaring her dagger at me.
“ You and Alexander have come to the end of the marriage contract, and he asked you to sign this” She says. “Sign the divorce document and leave! Briana says firmly. She stretches the divorce document to me.
I took the divorce paper and opened it. I felt hurt deep inside because I wasn’t alerted before.
I took the document from Briana and sign it.
I collected the document with a sad face, I collected the pen and flipped the divorce document. Alexander had signed his part. I signed mine too, hoping to recieve the settlement of the divorce.
I was going to speak. “ I…..want to…..ask about the settle…..” she cut me off.
“ You got paid for the contract, forget about the Divorce settlement, ,Alexander has no settlement to pay, just go and don’t don’t take anything, just leave!She snaps at me. She held my hand and threw me out of the house.
I look back at Briana, then she hissed. She called on the security to push me out of the compound.
I was led out of the house by the securities.
ALEXANDER’S POV
After Briana walked out of my room, I quickly rush to my closet to look for casual wear, when I find one, I quickly wear it and before I descend the stairs, Briana was sitting on the couch,she had her leg crossed with a wine glass in her hand.
I look around as I got to Briana. “ Where is she? I asked.
“ You guys got divorce” She replied and sips her drink.
“ What? I asked in surprised.
“ So tell me something, Are you sleeping with her? Briana asked standing up to me, she asked with lots of seriousness in her voice.
“ Oh, comeon Briana, I am not sleeping with her, I just care for her” I asked.
“ Why would you care too much for someone you contracted and moreover, you should have divorced her before my return if you weren’t sleeping with her” She yelled at me.
“ I am not having an affair with her, it’s just that she has no one to care for her” I explained.
“ And just because of that you have suddenly become her mom and dad? She asked.
“ Bri….a” Briana cuts in.
“ I am done with you,I am done with all of this bullshit” She says and stood up to leave.
I held her hand and stop her. “ Fre…..Briana believe me, I am not……” She scoffs and cuts in.
“You now almost call me by her name? Oh God! Briana pulls out her hand from mine with tears dripping down her face.
I look towards going after Freda or Briana? I then thought of going back to Briana, I walk into my Bedroom and saw her sitted on the couch in the bedroom.
I sat beside her and try to talk to her, I spoke with her that I and Freda had nothing that I loved her more.
I pull her into my embrace to stop her from crying. She told me she needed to take some rest. I took her to bed and pull the duvet over her, I waited for her to sleep then I quickly rush into my car, I drove out of the house, the rain was pouring but I have to search for her and bring hr back home.
FREDA’S POV.
When I was pushed out of the house by the security, tears dripped down my face, I have no where to go, I couldn’t believe Alexander would do this to me after all his promises.
The sky turn dark and it began to pour, I saw people with umbrella, some driving past me, I didn’t feel the rain pouring down on me, all I felt was the pain in my heart, all I think about is the deceit of everyone I had come across since I have been born.I kept walking in the down pour , I was drenched from head to toe, I wish I was never born into the world.
I cry so hard then I went down o my knees and cry at the middle of the road after crying out my heart in the rain for about an hour, I began to feel cold, I walk to stand in front of a locked coffee shop, I began to shiver , my legs were beginning to hurt then I sat down and before I knew it I lay on the floor and slept until it was dawn.
THE NEXT DAY
I felt a hand tap me, I opened my eyes and my face met with an older couple with a young man behind them.
I opened my eyes and saw an older couple standing with a younger man of about sixteen years old.
“ Are you okay”, the woman asked me and I burst into tears.
The older woman held my hand and help me up while her son opened the coffee shop.
They took me in but I kept crying, they fed me, they asked me what happened and I explained to the couple.
“Such is life dear” The woman says then she introduced herself to me as Mrs Jonas, she introduced her son and husband to me.
