Many others have said the same thing, but I can’t help but wonder ,do they really look like me?I rounded up for the day, then I stood up and went to Briana, who was engrossed in her cellphone.“ Shall we? I said to her, she looked up and gave me a smile as we held hands and left my office, headed to my car, and my driver took us home. When we arrived home, my kids rushed out of the house towards us.
They hugged me and tried to hug Briana. She pushed them away.
I watched her walk into the house bothering to see if any of the kids fell down from how she pushed them, but thank God none of them fell, they only felt bad about how she treated them.
I had to quickly cheer them up by pulling them into my embrace.
We broke our embrace, and we walked into the living room while Briana headed towards the stairs.
” Daddy, we had a great time in our swimming classes,” Daisy said.
” Really?” I replied.
” Yes, Dad,” Daniel answered.
“I didn’t really enjoy it, I prefer soccer,” Denzel says.
” Oh, kids, swimming, soccer, they’re all fun,” I said.
“Tomorrow is Saturday and your mom is here. We’ll plan your birthday together as a family this year,” I announced.
“Yayyy!” they all cheered.
“Dad, I want a PJ Masks for Themed birthday,” Denzel asked.
“No, Daddy, I want a Princess Sofia theme because when I grow up, I want to be a princess and rule the world,” Daisy insisted.
“I want to be Spider-Man, I want to save the world like Peter does,” Daniel declared.
“Okay, we’ll discuss it and have all the themes,” I promised, pulling each of them on their chin.
“Have you eaten?” I asked.
“Yes, Daddy, we waited for you, but you came home late,”Daisy complained, sulking. I crouched down before her and looked deeply into her eyes.
“Daddy is so sorry, darlings, I’ll try to be back earlier next time, so we can eat together as a family.
Let me go upstairs and change into something casual, I’ll be back,” I said.
“We’ll be waiting, Dad,” they said.
“Okay, sweethearts,” I said, kissing them on their heads.
I climbed the stairs and entered the room and found Briana sitting on the bed. She crossed her legs , staring at me seductively.
I pulled off my tie and walked past her to tie closet.
She stood up and wrapped her hand around me from behind. “ I love you so much babe”, she said.
“Why do you always act distant with the kids? They love you, and I think you should try to bond with them more. You’ll enjoy it,” I suggested. She removed her hand from my body.
“What makes you think I’ll ever accept those kids from another woman as mine? Do you think I don’t know they’re your kids? Please don’t ruin the peace of mind we are having right now”, she says angrily, and goes to sit fuming in anger.
I walked to the closet, changed into something casual. “ I need to go and eat, I am famished and my kids are waiting for me downstairs, we have the rest of the evening to ourselves,” I mentioned, leaning in for a kiss, but she pulled away in frustration.
“Are those kids more important than me?” she questioned.
“No, Fred… I stumbled,” I replied.
“Freda? Oh, Freda? Is that what it is? When will you ever call me by my name without mentioning Freda?” she shouted.
“I apologize,” I said, reaching out to her, but she moved away.
“I’m tired of your apologies!” she yelled.
“If it’s not Freda, it’s the kids!” she shouted, grabbing her shoes.
I followed her. “Fred…” I stumbled once more.
“Don’t bother apologizing again!” she said, slipping on her shoes, grabbing her handbag, and storming out.
“Bri……ana!” I called after her, but she didn’t stop, rushing down the stairs and out of the house to call her driver.
I couldn’t keep up with her, so I returned to the living room where my kids were waiting, looking sad because they knew Briana and I were always arguing. They came to comfort me.
“You’ll be okay, dad. Mom will come back,” they reassured me, hugging me as I returned into the living room.
I ate dinner with my kids and put them to bed, reading them stories.
I spent the entire night trying to call Briana, but she didn’t answer my calls.
The next day, I went to find her, and she informed me that she wanted to take a break from our relationship. I asked her about our upcoming wedding, and she revealed that she was calling off the marriage. I begged her to reconsider, but she gave me an ultimatum to choose between her and the kids, which was something I could never do.
Eventually, I decided to let go of the relationship. Soon enough, news of our breakup spread all over the media.
Three years later, I was heading to work when my children’s nanny informed me that she would be leaving her position to move abroad and help take care of her daughter’s baby. I decided to apply for a new nanny and requested my current nanny to assist with the interview process.
FREDA’S POV
I was preparing for my bookshop when my cellphone beeped. It was a message from the work agency that I had been selected for a nanny job.
I sighed and dropped my cellphone and just hoped that this time that it would be in Alexander’s mansion.
I got ready and headed to the company, and I was told I had been selected among the nannies for Alexander’s mansion. I was Overjoyed!
The interview was scheduled for the next day. I woke up early, got dressed, and felt excited to finally see my kids after eight years. I put on makeup to change my appearance, and it worked! I looked different and unrecognizable. Standing in front of the mirror, I felt happy about my transformation.
When I arrived at Alexander’s house, everything looked the same, reminding me of our agreement. I entered the living room where four other applicants were waiting. I joined them and I was nervous that what if I wasn’t selected as my kids nanny.
The outgoing nanny interviewed the others, making me anxious about my chances. I prayed silently for the job, and during my interview, I tried to stay calm and be more focused.
Luckily, I was hired in the end. I was overjoyed, and immediately I asked about my kids, and the Nanny told me they had gone to school.
I couldn’t wait to meet them. As I stood in the living room, it felt like I was signing my divorce papers all over again, being pushed out by Briana.
My eyes became gloomy but the thought of meeting my kids after eight years gripped my mind again, and I forgot all about the past between
I and Alexander and I closed, my eyes and opened them, then took a deep breath, then went upstairs to my kids’ room. I smiled, imagining how they must have grown. I eagerly awaited their return from school.
When the driver went to pick them up from school, I felt anxious. When the driver brought my kids back, I hurried to the car and tried to caution myself from drawing suspicious attention from anyone to me.
I glance back and notice their former nanny staring at me. I flashed her a smile before turning my attention back to my kids who hadn’t come out of the car yet.
Tears start welling up in my eyes, and I try to hold them back, but they escape. I quickly wiped my face as my children finally emerge from the car, standing there and staring at me. I rush over to them, embracing them tightly as tears stream down my face
. “I miss you, and I’m so sorry, Tyler, Theron, and…” Before I can finish, my daughter interrupts me.
“Excuse me, who are you?” she asked.
It dawns on me that I’ve made a mistake. “Who are you?” Tyler asks.
“Oh, I’m so sorry,” I apologize, standing up straight. “I’m your…um…your new nanny,” I explained.
“Oh yeah, Mrs. Colt mentioned we are getting a new nanny,” Theron chimes in.
“Can we go inside? Let me help you with your backpacks,” I offered.
“Nevermind,” they reply, walking past me to greet their former nanny.
I watch as my kids interact with her, seeing the bond between them. I approach them.
“Let me get your lunch ready,” I suggested. “Mrs. Colt will take care of that for us,” Theron responds and walks in with Mrs Colt.
“Daisy,” Mrs. Colt calls out. “She’s your new nanny, so you should start getting used to her,” she explains.
“Oh, Daisy is your name?” I questioned with a smile. Just then, a car pulls into the driveway, and Mrs Colt steps out of the house, followed by the kids and me.
The car stops and Briana steps out from the back seat. She looks around the house, then she smiles dressed elegantly in a bodycon gown and open-toe shoes.
She smiles and helps a young boy and a girl out of the car.
My children and I, along with Mrs. Colt, exchanged surprised glances. “Mom and little kids?” Daisy whispered.
She stood there, staring at all of us, before taking a few steps towards us.
In response, my kids rushed towards her. “Mom,” she pushed them away.
“I am not your mom and I will never be your mom!” she shouted at them.
I quickly rushed to pick up my kids. “Sorry, kids,” I said, embracing them tightly.
I wanted to punch her and give her the beating of her life, but I held back, clenching my fist and trying to calm myself down. “I am not your mom, and you do not belong in this family,” she continued, causing all the other domestic workers in the house to rush out and see what was happening.
The kids Briana came with were kids about three years old. They looked up Briana and asked.
“Mom, where are we?” one of the kids asked.
“You are in your dad’s mansion. You, your twin , and I are here to take back what belongs to us,”She replied, turning to me and my kids
. “Denzel, Daniel, and Daisy, won’t you welcome the real offspring, the biological kids, and the heirs of everything your dad owns into the house?” she said.
I was trying my best not to react. Then, she looked at me from head to toe. “And who are you?” she asked. I didn’t answer. “Oh, you can’t answer?” she taunted, while I seethed with anger on the inside.
“Anyway, I am back with the legitimate kids of the house. I think it’s high time you started counting your days in this house,” she declared, about to walk away.
At that point, I couldn’t take all her stupid talk anymore. I had to stop her from hurting my kids.
“Excuse me! Stop hurting these kids by saying those awful things to them,” I said firmly.
BRIANA’S POV’S
I immediately spun around, not because she accused me of saying something strange to the triplets, but because her voice was so familiar she sounded just like Freda.
That voice echoed in my ears, instantly recognizable even if I were abruptly awakened from my slumber. I turned around to face the new nanny, peering into her eyes intently, hoping to find familiarity. However, my gut feeling told me otherwise. In a rather repulsive manner, I confronted her, questioning her authority in this household. I scanned her from head to toe, waiting for her response, but she remained silent. The children clung to Mrs. Colt, seeking comfort amidst the tension.
” I can see the kids are clinging to you, but you know what, I will soon take over and send the kids out of this house. Well, I guess you will continue being their nanny on the street” said and laughed out wickedly.
Observing the scene, very soon, I will be in total control of this mansion.
