Steve, the accomplished billionaire CEO, epitomized the epitome of success. His unwavering dedication to his work was unparalleled, as he traversed the globe in pursuit of his ambitions.
His job held an irreplaceable significance in his life, surpassing all other worldly possessions. With utmost reverence, he cherished his role and skillfully managed his vast empire.
A man of fortitude and enigma, he occasionally exhibited eccentric behavior when confronted with challenges within his office or on his path to ascend to greater heights.
Never did Steve fathom that anything could impede his daily pilgrimage to his esteemed office, until the fateful day when he was struck by an irreparable loss.
Tragedy befell him as he bid farewell to his beloved wife, the epitome of love and motherhood, during the birth of their twin daughters. The union had already blessed them with a three-year-old son, who now stood as a testament to the love they once shared.
As condolences poured in and close relatives and friends flocked to his abode to offer solace, Steve found himself engulfed in a sea of grief.
However, as the days passed, the stream of visitors dwindled, leaving him alone to navigate the daunting task of caring for his children.
With only a maid, whose command of the English language was limited due to his late wife’s preference for minimal household staff, Steve found himself in a predicament. The male workers, who formed the rest of the household staff, were ill-equipped to assist in tending to the needs of the children. Doubt clouded his mind, as he grappled with the notion of entrusting his precious offspring to an illiterate maid.
Steve found himself unable to remain confined within the walls of his home any longer. The weight of his recent loss, the absence of his beloved wife, had become unbearable. Determined to find a solution, he reached out to a prestigious house help agency management. With a trembling hand, he dialed the number and a voice, as smooth as silk, answered on the other end.
“Hello,” the voice greeted.
“Yes, Mrs. Brandon speaking,” she introduced herself.
“I am Mr. Steve Blair,” Steve replied, his voice filled with a mix of vulnerability and desperation. “How may I be of assistance to you?” Mrs. Brandon inquired, her tone compassionate.
“I am in need of a nanny for my children,” Steve explained, his voice tinged with sorrow. “Since the loss of their mother, I find it difficult to trust anyone other than a nanny to care for them. Can you please help me find one urgently?”
Mrs. Brandon paused for a moment, considering the gravity of Steve’s request. “Would it be possible for you to visit my office to complete the necessary formalities?” she suggested.
Steve, eager to find a solution, asked, “When and where shall I come?”
“Today, before the sun sets,” Mrs. Brandon replied firmly.
Steve, hoping for a miracle, inquired, “Is it possible to find a nanny today?”
Mrs. Brandon’s response was measured. “It depends on your preferences,” she stated.
“Very well,” Steve agreed. “I shall be there shortly.” With that, he ended the phone call and immediately contacted the maid named Lola. “Please, I will be leaving soon. Take care of the children,” he instructed. “I have prepared their milk in the feeding bottles. If they cry, please prepare food for Claren and give the babies their milk. Do you understand?”
“Yes,” Lola replied, her voice filled with reassurance.
“Excellent,” Steve acknowledged. He then proceeded to bathe and dress himself in somber black attire. Stepping into his sleek black Bentley executive car, he embarked on his journey to the agency. As he entered the office, a palpable aura of sadness surrounded him. Without uttering a word, he quietly took his seat, acknowledging no one except for a simple “hi” upon his arrival.
Unfortunately, Steve soon realized that he would not be able to enter Mrs. Brandon’s office immediately. The waiting area was filled with numerous clients, all seeking assistance for the same purpose.
Steve later called Mrs. Brandon, and she answered with a friendly “hello.” Steve explained that he needed help because he had left the kids with someone he didn’t trust. He needed to get back home on time. Mrs. Brandon reassured him, saying she would call him back in a few minutes. Steve said, “Okay,” and ended the call.
Fifteen minutes later, Mrs. Brandon called Steve back. He gave her some documents to fill out and signed them. He also had to pay a fee. Once the payment was done, Mrs. Brandon explained that they had different types of nannies seeking job vacancies. The nannies had different salaries, professions, ages, and looks. Steve asked, “What do you mean by double professions?” Mrs. Brandon replied, “They can be both a nurse and an educationalist.”
Steve then asked if he could find a nanny who could also drive, preferably a nurse cum educationalist. Mrs. Brandon said they might be able to find someone who meets that criteria among the job seekers. Steve requested her help in finding the right nanny. Mrs. Brandon told him to wait and stepped out of her office to where the job seekers were sitting on the lawn, waiting for their chance. She called out, “If you are a nurse and educationist, please come forward.” All the professionals with those qualifications came forward, and Mrs. Brandon asked again.
“Who among you can drive flawlessly?” she inquired, and nearly all of them raised their hands. She then asked again, “If you can drive flawlessly and possess a valid driving license, accompany me.” Only two applicants raised their hands and followed Mrs. Brandon to her office. “Here they are,” she stated.
Mrs. Brandon then introduced them to Steve. “This is Patricia, who has been working as a nanny for over three decades. She is an experienced nanny capable of taking care of your children. And this is Saraphina, who possesses the same qualities as Patricia. Both of them have the potential and qualities of a nanny,” Mrs. Brandon explained. “Now, it’s up to you to choose between the two,” she added.
“Please allow me some time to evaluate the situation. I will get back to you shortly,” Steve replied before leaving the office. He sat down in the lobby, contemplating which candidate would make the best nanny.
Patricia appeared to be between the ages of forty-five and fifty, and her appearance might be intimidating to my children. No, Patricia is not the right fit.
Saraphina, a young lady in her late twenties to early thirties, possessed a captivating beauty that was undeniable. However, her choice of attire often leaned towards the oversized, but such a trivial matter could easily be rectified. Standing at the same height as the mother of Steve’s children, she exuded a similar radiance that instantly drew him in. Claren, their children, seemed to effortlessly connect with Saraphina due to her resemblance to their beloved mother. Yet, Steve pondered on her capabilities, unsure of what she could truly offer. Nevertheless, after much contemplation, he had made up his mind – Saraphina was his preferred choice.
Returning to his office, Steve confidently declared, “I have decided to choose Saraphina.” With determination, he headed back to Mrs. Brandon’s office, leaving the other contestants behind on the lawn, believing that he would not return for any of them. Upon entering, he greeted Mrs. Brandon with a polite, “Hello, Mrs. Brandon.”
Surprised by his presence, Mrs. Brandon remarked, “Oh, you’re still here? I thought you had left.”
Steve replied, “How could I leave when I am in dire need of a nanny? I took the time to meditate on my decision.”
Curiosity piqued, Mrs. Brandon inquired, “So, what have you decided?”
“I have chosen Saraphina. I believe she would be the best fit for the children,” Steve confidently stated.
“Very well, let us put her on a trial period of three months before finalizing a contract,” Mrs. Brandon suggested.
“Very well,” Steve retorted, his voice dripping with confidence and authority.
“Pray tell, Mrs. Branfon,” he continued, his tone laced with a hint of impatience, “what about the three children and their welfare?”
Mrs. Brandon, undeterred by his assertiveness, calmly replied, “Indeed, the monthly remuneration stands at a generous sum of one thousand five hundred dollars. Additionally, you shall be granted a day off each month to visit your loved ones. Are these terms agreeable to you?”
Without missing a beat, Steve retorted, “I am more than content with the proposed conditions.”
“Very well then,” Mrs. Brandon said, her voice tinged with satisfaction. “Allow me to make a phone call to Saraphina.”
“Proceed,” he replied, his voice exuding a sense of nonchalance.
Mrs. Brandon dialed Saraphina’s number and spoke into the receiver, her words firm and commanding. “Hello, Saraphina. I implore you to bring your belongings to my office immediately.”
After concluding the conversation, Mrs. Brandon’s office door swung open, revealing Saraphina standing there with her luggage in tow.
“You have been granted a trial position as a nanny,” Mrs. Brandon explained, her voice carrying a note of authority. “If both parties are impressed with your performance after three months, a formal contract shall be signed. For now, the terms of your trial employment include a monthly salary of one thousand five hundred dollars and one day off per month. Do you find these conditions acceptable?”
Saraphina, her voice filled with gratitude, replied, “Yes, I am in complete agreement.”
Mrs. Brandon then turned her attention to both individuals, her gaze unwavering. “Are both of you in accord with the terms and conditions of this employment?”
In unison, they responded, “Yes, we are.”
With that settled, the two of them gracefully exited the office, strolling across the manicured lawn towards the parking lot. Steve, ever the gentleman, opened the trunk of the car while Saraphina meticulously arranged her belongings inside. Once everything was in place, they both entered the vehicle, and Steve skillfully drove them home.
Meanwhile, Steve and the new nanny emerged from the luxurious automobile, with Steve gallantly opening the car door for the Nanny. Saraphina. Gracefully, she retrieved her exquisite luggage from the car’s trunk. As she strolled along the path leading to the opulent mansion, a faint sound caught her attention – the cries of innocent infants. Assuming their mother was present, she initially displayed minimal concern. However, as the cries persisted, she inquired, “Is their mother not at home?”
To her astonishment, Steve, with tears streaming down his face, responded, “She passed away days ago.” Saraphina, filled with sympathy, expressed her condolences, promptly abandoning her belongings. She hurriedly made her way towards the house, determined to locate the children’s room. Upon entering, she discovered two twin infants and a young boy, all in tears, while the perplexed maid stood helplessly by, unsure of how to console them. Overwhelmed by empathy, Saraphina found herself shedding tears alongside the distressed children.
Approaching the twin infants, Saraphina gently cradled one in her arms and inquired, “Have they been fed?” Lola, the maid, responded with a hint of desperation, “I have attempted to feed them, but they continuously reject the nourishment with their tiny tongues. I am at a loss for what to do.”
With utmost care, Saraphina proceeded to change the infants’ diapers before diligently feeding them their specialized infant milk, one after the other. Curious about the location of the kitchen, she sought guidance from Lola. Once acquainted with its whereabouts, Saraphina skillfully prepared delectable snacks for Claren, the young boy. Carrying the refreshments, she settled herself in the lavish living room, attentively observing the children as they played.
In the meantime, Steve commanded the housekeepers to meticulously arrange Saraphina’s belongings within the designated room assigned to her. As he observed Saraphina’s every move through the surveillance footage installed in the children’s room and the nursery, Steve couldn’t help but be astounded by her exceptional performance on her first day with the children. He remained fixated on the screen until the little ones drifted off into a peaceful slumber.
Later on, Steve emerged from his quarters to ensure the well-being of his beloved children and their entrusted caregiver. “Are you faring well?” Steve inquired with genuine concern.
“Yes, I am perfectly fine,” Saraphina promptly replied.
“Kindly escort them back to their chambers, and allow me to acquaint you with the rest of the estate,” Steve instructed.
“Very well,” she acquiesced, cradling the twin infants tenderly in her arms. With graceful strides, she led the way to the children’s room, while Steve carried Claren and followed closely behind. Carefully placing the little ones on the plush baby cots provided, Saraphina mirrored the same action for Claren. “I appreciate your assistance,” Steve expressed his gratitude.
“You are most welcome,” Saraphina responded graciously.
“Now that the children are sound asleep, please accompany me,” Steve proposed.
“Of course,” she agreed, and together they exited the children’s room. Steve proceeded to give her a comprehensive tour of the opulent residence, emphasizing that the infants should not be brought into the living room. He also pointed out the nursery and the designated living area suitable for the children. Furthermore, he explicitly instructed the maid and the cook not to impede Saraphina’s freedom of movement within the house.
A week later, he observed Saraphina and witnessed her expertise as a nanny. It was evident that she possessed the necessary skills to care for the children. With confidence, he dialed Saraphina’s number and spoke, “Tomorrow marks the beginning of my return to the office. Can I rely on you? Can I entrust you with the precious infants?” Steve inquired.
“I am here solely for them, and it is my duty to provide them with exceptional care,” Saraphina replied with conviction.
“In that case, I implore you to ensure their well-being,” Steve stated. “Everything you require is readily available at home. If there are any additional necessities, do not hesitate to contact me via phone.”
“Rest assured, you will not regret hiring me,” Saraphina assured.
“Come with me,” Steve beckoned, leading her outside where a fleet of luxurious cars awaited. He handed her a set of keys, each unlocking a different vehicle. “If you ever feel the need for a change of scenery, take the children on a delightful ride. Additionally, Claren will be resuming school next week. Should you need to drop him off, make use of the other car. And for any other requirements, feel free to communicate with me,” Steve explained graciously.
Saraphina beheld the grand estate, her eyes captivated by the splendor that surrounded her. The mansion exuded an aura of opulence, adorned with an array of vibrant living flowers, each boasting its own unique hue. It surpassed the elegance of even the most luxurious five-star hotels, leaving Saraphina in awe of its magnificence.
As she marveled at her surroundings, her attention was drawn to the whimsical and exquisite space bus that awaited her. Its design was a testament to artistry and beauty, a vehicle fit for a queen. And beside it stood a second car, an executive masterpiece that exuded timeless sophistication.
Overwhelmed by the sheer grandeur before her, Saraphina found herself at a loss for words. Her excitement was palpable, radiating from her every pore. It was then that Steve, her companion, broke the silence, urging her to enter the mansion.
With a respectful nod, Saraphina replied, “Certainly, sir.”
